SPRINGFIELD — According to Forbes, 30% of teachers are concerned about job displacement by artificial intelligence in schools. A bill sponsored by State Senator Mike Porfirio and State Representative Abdelnasser Rashid would protect the jobs of Illinois teachers from being taken by AI.
“Illinois teachers are invaluable to our communities and to our students,” said Porfirio (D-Lyons Township). “This legislation upholds our commitment to our teachers and protects them from being replaced by advancing technology.”
SUMMIT – State Senator Mike Porfirio announced a $2.4 million grant from the Illinois Department of Transportation will help students and those with physical limitations commute throughout his district.
“I am committed to maintaining transit systems that are convenient and accessible for all those in the 11th District,” said Porfirio (D-Lyons Township). “This funding will uphold that commitment by breaking down barriers to those who need additional support traveling through the district.”
