SUMMIT — On March 25, State Senator Mike Porfirio threw out the first pitch at the Argo Community High School softball field on opening day in celebration of their newly renovated turf field.
“I was honored and thankful to visit Argo High School, to celebrate the renovations and improvements to their field,” said Porfirio (D-Lyons Township). “Our student athletes deserve safe, up-to-date playing conditions, and this funding helped make that a reality.”
The improvements to the field come from a $1 million grant from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity that Porfirio helped secure for the Argo High School community.
Porfirio wishes the Argonauts good luck in their upcoming season.
